05Why direct

Every layer between a quarry and a stone yard adds cost and removes information

The conventional route runs quarry, local trader, consolidator, exporter, destination importer, then merchant. Each step marks the material up and each step blurs where it came from.

We removed the chain rather than competing inside it. The quarry, the polishing yard and the crating are ours. The family has worked this stone for over 30 years; the only thing that is new is selling it direct to export markets.
